River Rafting in Sikkim

River Teesta and its tributary Rangeet offers a series of rapids with varying intensity, and character. They offers one of the finest rafting stretches and multi-dimensional rapids. And offers a challenge to experienced rafters also.

1: Teesta River

It is the primary watershed of central Sikkim with a number of smaller tributaries which offer great Kayaking and River Rafting Potential ( Special permits are requited for foreign tourists entering Sikkim), Self-contained 5 Days expedition from Dikchu (In Sikkim) to Savoke in west Bengal (110 KMS). The great Rangeet and the upper Rangeet rivers, both tributaries of the Teesta offer extensive Kayaking potential.

Grade : IV + Rapids
Access : By road from Gangtok to Dikchu (3 hours)
Best Season : October thru April

2: Rangeet River

Demarcating Sikkim and West Bengal, the Greater Rangeet river is one of the major tributaries of the Teesta river, with road support all along, the river offers superb white water from Likship, in its upper reaches to Teesta bazaar, the confluence with the Teesta, Ideally suited to Kayaking and River Rafting. This stretch from Likship to Naya Bazaar and finally to Teesta Bazzar is approximately 90 K.M.

Grade : IV + Rapids
Access : By road from Gangtok to Dikchu (3 hours)
Best Season : October thru April
